Warner Bros. is Sending Their 2021 Slate Home & in Theaters

It's no secret this year has been an awful one and even the tiniest thing that could lighten the dark was snuffed in some way or another. For myself and countless others, this was going to the movies and 2020 has been the most difficult for the industry possibly ever with hundreds of theaters closing their doors for good or open in limited capacity.

2021 looks to be a bit more hopeful, but according to a recent report in Variety Warner Bros. isn't taking any chances next year. The report has announced that the studio is officially going ahead with a simultaneous release of their entire slate of new films, many of which are some of the most anticipated films of the year including but not limited to 'The Suicide Squad', 'Dune', and 'Mortal Kombat'!

Warner has included a small trailer which you can see below that provides a bit more detail.

Sadly, this seems to be yet another nail in the coffin for the theater industry. While the movies will still release in theaters the same day as their HBO counterpart, the convenience and fear is simply too strong for theater owners to compete. Hopefully, we'll see some kind of compromise from studios & NATO (National Association of Theater Owners) that will keep them afloat. Warner Bros. has also stated that this is simply a precautionary tactic that will only be around in 2021 but things can always change for the better or the worst.
