Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005)

And so we get to the...good prequel? Alright I'm going to be a lot more fair than that as I personally enjoy this entry more than my friends but that doesn't mean its not silly and full of flaws like the other two prequel films. It still has over the top and computer animated action scenes, wooden acting from most of the cast, and despite its attempts at a darker entry in the series it hits bumps at every said attempt. The best thing about 'Revenge of the Sith' is as follows: Ian McDiarmid as Palpatine steals the show and gives a creepy and compelling performance. Even when talking to Hayden Christensen he manages to draw you in and keep your attention. Second is Ewan McGregor's Obi Wan giving his usual strong performance. He has a lot on his shoulders more than he likely thought at the time because he carries the emotional weight of the story due to Christensen's inept acting. Even with all that extra baggage, McGregor does well here. And finally, we come to General Grevious who is one of the coolest and interesting characters in 'Star Wars' lore. While he isn't used too much in this film, his limited screen time shows off his great strength and fighting skills and despite his brief appearance here, his impact on the franchise is eternal.

So the bad here is...well everything else. The all green screen sets and environments don't look convincing, the majority of the acting is poor, for every dark and violent moment they have to throw in something silly such as a one liner from Obi Wan or the infamous 'NOOOOOOO!' from Vader, and overall the movie is kind of forgettable once you left that multiplex. I'm dead serious when I say that if it weren't for the constant Internet bickering and memes, I'd doubt that most people would have given 'Episode III' much of a thought that often. I mean other than it being 'Star Wars' of course, but even then when I started to get excited for 'The Last Jedi' and that date crept closer and closer, I don't find myself wanting to revisit any of these prequels outside of video games like 'Battlefront'. I like to compare it to James Bond in that I don't find myself going for 'Quantum of Solace' or 'Die Another Day' at all when I could just watch 'GoldenEye' again. Despite their titles, the 'Star Wars' prequels are really just throwaway films in a much larger franchise. You can find almost anything else to entertain yourself with than these three films.
